Air Quality Health Index for Grey-Bruce forecasted to remain at Low Risk into Tuesday

Grey Bruce Public Health is pleased to share that the Air Quality Health Index (AQHI) for Grey-Bruce is now considered Low Risk, meaning everyone can enjoy their usual outdoor activities.

The local AQHI, measured at the Tiverton station, is expected to remain at Low Risk into Tuesday.

When the Air Quality Health Index is at Low Risk, Grey Bruce Public Health recommends the following:

  • For the general population: The air quality is ideal for outdoor activities.
  • For the At-Risk population (people with heart or breathing problems): Enjoy your usual outdoor activities.

Public Health encourages the public to continue to regularly check the air quality health messages at AirQualityOntario.com – AQHI Categories and Health Messages – especially when looking to spend time outdoors.

While Environment & Climate Change Canada ended the Special Air Quality Statement for Grey-Bruce on June 9, 2023, GBPH is continuing to monitor the local Air Quality Health Index and will issue any recommendations to the public, when necessary.

A Special Air Quality Statement had been put in place for Grey-Bruce on June 6, 2023, due to smoke from forest fires in eastern Ontario and Quebec.
