Grey Bruce Public Health is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the owner of a dog involved in a biting incident that occurred on Jan. 27, 2025, in Owen Sound.
Between 2 and 4 p.m., a teenager was bitten by a dog, described as being or appearing similar to a German Shepherd.
The incident occurred on the west side of 2nd Avenue East, between 6th and 7th streets, as the teen met the owner walking the dog on a leash on the narrow, snowy sidewalk.
The owner of the dog was a young woman, about 18 to 22 years of age, and about 5’8” tall.
Grey Bruce Public Health staff needs to confirm the dog is not infectious with rabies. By verifying the health of the dog, the victim can avoid receiving the post-exposure rabies treatment.
