Grey Bruce Public Health is seeking the public’s help in finding the owner of a dog involved in a biting/scratching incident on Aug. 27, 2024, in Saugeen Shores.
At about 6:45 a.m., a woman was bitten by a small, light brown dog, believed to be a poodle mix, near the roundabout at Devonshire Road and Waterloo Street in Port Elgin.
The dog was with a man in his 70s when the incident occurred.
Staff at Grey Bruce Public Health needs to confirm the dog is not infectious with rabies. By verifying the health of the dog, the victim can avoid receiving the post-exposure rabies treatment.
