Grey Bruce Public Health is requesting the public’s help in identifying the owner of a dog involved in a biting incident that took place on Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2024, in West Grey.
At about 5 p.m., a man was bitten by a small white dog with curly fur on Highway 6, north of Wilder Lake Road, in Varney. The dog, which did not have a collar on at the time of the incident, had been seen walking alone on Highway 6.
Grey Bruce Public Health needs to confirm the dog is not infectious with the rabies virus. By verifying the health of the dog, the victim can avoid receiving the post-exposure rabies treatment.
