Grey Bruce Public Health is requesting the public’s help in identifying the owner of a dog that was involved in a biting incident on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, in Saugeen Shores.
At about 2 p.m., an individual was bitten by a white dog, described as a medium to larger-sized poodle-type dog, at the Southampton Beach. The incident took place on the boardwalk, near the public washrooms.
The dog was with an older woman, who was wearing a pink shirt and capri pants, at the time of the incident.
Grey Bruce Public Health needs to confirm the dog is not infectious with the rabies virus. By verifying the health of the dog, the victim can avoid receiving the post-exposure rabies treatment.
Anyone with information related to this incident is asked to call Grey Bruce Public Health at 519-376-9420 ext. 1330.
