News Release For Immediate Release July 22, 2010
Station Beach Posted Unsafe for Bathing; Black Creek Beach (Old Woman River) Posting Lifted
Beach water sampling at Station Park Beach, Municipality of Kincardine, show levels exceeding Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care standards for acceptable bacterial levels. The Grey Bruce Health Unit took samples on Wednesday, July 21, 2010. As a result, the area will be posted and remain posted until samples indicate that water is safe for bathing.
Water samples taken at Black Creek Beach, Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula, show results within acceptable levels according to Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care standards. The Grey Bruce Health Unit took samples on Wednesday, July 21, 2010. Based on these results, the beach, which was posted as unsafe on July 14, 2010, is now deemed safe for bathing.
The Medical Officer of Health advises bathers that high levels of bacteria in the water may pose a risk to their health.
